30 Laptop-Friendly Places
With the rise of digital nomads and the increase in remote work, local coffee shops have become a popular destination to break up the rotating positions at home from kitchen table to couch or tiny desk that faces the wall. Thanks to the huge growth in local coffee and bubble tea shops there are seemingly an endless list of places to bring your laptop and set up shop for a little while. There are far more places that can offer a comfortable atmosphere for local Orlando peoples to study or work, but this is my curated list for you and not one of them is a Starbucks.
ACHILLES ART CAFE - METRO WEST
Achilles Art Cafe is one of the few old school coffee house vibe style places Orlando has. Walls full of local art, chill music in the background, and if it’s raining inside, your basically entering one of those Youtube cozy coffee house videos.

QREATE COFFEE - mills 50
Qreate Coffee was set up in mind for the freelancer since they double as a photo studio. The drinks are great, and there is plenty of seating and space for you and your laptop. I’ve never seen it so busy throughout the day that it would be hard to focus on what you were doing. In reality, it looks like most people there are also working on their laptops.
Parking: Free Street Parking and a lot behind the building
SNOWBEAN - E. Colonial
I almost NEVER refer to anything as a hidden gem, but Snowbean is about as close as it gets. This spot on E. Colonial is great for several reasons. It’s small, dark, and quiet, perfect for studying or working. There are delicious treats to enjoy during your stay, and a bonus is the back patio with a gorgeous lake view.
Parking: Parking lot parking
HAAN - MILLS 50
Haan has become one of my favorite coffee shops in Orlando. The long corridor of seats that line both walls, and then open up into a wider seating area in the back definitely lend itself to a work session with your laptop. The only issue will be finding a seat as it’s usually packed.
Parking: Free parking in the lot or on the street
DUO 58 - avalon park
I don’t make it out to Duo 58 that often since it’s one of the furthest shops from me, but seating here is plentiful, so they are no strangers to laptops and books. If you live on that side of Orlando this is a great spot to chill for a bit and enjoy my favorite drink, The Lorax.
Parking: FREE Parking lot
PRAIRIE HOUSE COFFEE - oakland
Over in Oakland, Prairie House Coffee is found in this beautiful historic building. There are two areas inside for seating, plus some shady outdoor seating. The cafe is also a holistic an gluten-free eatery, and a natural wine bar as well.
Parking: FREE Parking Lot
PROPAGATE SOCIAL HOUSE - apopka
Over in Apopka, you can bring the laptop and set up on the back patio surrounded by a lush Florida setting of plants (more lush than what’s in this picture for sure). Stay cool with an iced latte or beer and wine.
Parking: FREE Parking Lot
Stardust Coffee - audubon park
Over in Audubon Park, Stardust comes to us straight from a independent 90s coming-of-age story and this is the coffee shop the protagonist worked at. There are multiple spaces to work out of, my favorite being the cozy cubbies that look out of the front windows.
Parking: FREE Parking Lot
WHIPPOORWILL/EASY LUCK - milk district
Regardless of whether you’re setting up shop in the AM or PM, Whippoorwill is a very chill place to get some work done. During the day, you can grab a coffee from Easy Luck, and later into the afternoon, you can grab a drink from the bar or the fully stocked fridge is full of beers.
Parking: FREE Parking Lot
DEEPLY COFFEE - downtown orlando
Deeply in Downtown Orlando is another one of my favorite spots. The coffee is always spot on, and a bonus for having Buttermilk pastries on hand. While seating is ample, Deeply tends to be busy, so it’s really up to you if this is a good choice for work or casual laptop browsing. My favorite spot is in the corner by the bathrooms where I’m tucked away but can still see the whole shop.
New York Lounge Café - Cool Music
Parking: PAID Meter Street Parking
LINEAGE (E. COLONIAL + UNIVERSITY)
Lineage is almost always filled with people working or studying so you will fit right in especially at the UCF location. Now that they offer their own baked goods, you can add a carb-loaded treat to your work session.
Parking: FREE Parking Lot Parking
THREE BIRDS CAFE - winter garden
While , three birds café in Wintergarden is definitely more of a fast casual restaurant, you still find the occasional business meeting or laptop warrior sitting at their bar window seats or even on the outdoor patio.
Parking: FREE Street or Garage Parking
BYNX - downtown orlando
Bynx is a cool spot downtown that doubles as a venue for live music and a small record shop. During the day it’s a pretty chill place to study or crack some books.
Parking: PAID Meter Street Parking
LOBOS COFFEE ROASTERS - audubon park
Lobos is another spot in Audubon Park where coffee and laptops come together in a quiet atmosphere. There is indoor and outdoor seating, but you’ll want a spot near an outlet.
Parking: FREE Parking Lot
THE MONROE - downtown orlando
Yes the Monroe is a popular restaurant downtown, but did you know their lounge doubles as a coffee hang during the day? On Tuesday - Friday mornings you couldn’t ask for a prettier setting for an hour or so of freelance work. Their coffee program is great, and you can’t beat this upscale environment over your couch and pajamas when you want to join society for the day.
Parking: PAID Meter Street Parking
SPRING TEA - john young/mills 50
While any Boba shop can double as a place to set up the laptop for an hour or so, the Spring Tea on John Young Parkway is tucked away from the city’s core and usually pretty quiet for those who aren’t trying to see or be seen while they work/study.
Parking: FREE Parking Lot
XO Coffee - kissimmee
Head down to Kissimmee at XO Coffee and this large shop has plenty of seating in a quiet atmosphere. The space has plenty of seating and outlets, and they always have fun seasonal coffees.
Parking: FREE Parking Lot
Cafe Barista - kissimmee
Also in Kissimmee, Cafe Barista is a very cute and colorful shop (they have some eats as well) that was very peaceful and quiet when I went.
Parking: FREE Street Parking behind the building
Light on the Sugar - winter park
This beautiful spot is more for the person who doesn’t mind a little hustle and bustle where they study, because it’s not just the treats that will distract you. It’s busy, so people will be filling in and out, so if you don’t mind that, it’s a tasty place to hang for a little while.
Parking: FREE Parking Lot Parking
san julian’s coffee bar - Winter Park
A calm minimal vibe with a Latin flare is at San Julian’s Coffee. This spot doesn’t get much fanfare online, but it’s known to locals as a quiet spot with good food and coffee.
Parking: FREE Parking Lot
The Neighbors AT EAST END
Sometimes you’ll find people in the East End Courtyard on laptops and such, but it gets a bit hot, so the ideal space is upstairs on the 2nd floor of the East End. There you’ll find the bar/shop The Neighbors, but it’s ok if you aren’t there to shop or drink (although chances are you won’t be able to resist something). You are welcome to bring food or drink from downstairs in the market up to this area where there is seating in a colorful and very local atmosphere.
Parking: FREE Parking lot parking
Stemma Craft Coffee - DOWNTOWN ORLANDO
Stemma has become one of my favorite coffee shops and the aesthetics are just the icing on top. If you can manage to grab a seat, you can stay enjoy their very own roasted coffee, grab a salad or toast, and get your IG pic.
Parking: PAID Meter Street Parking
AXUM COFFEE - downtown WINTER GARDEN
If you are looking for a place with ample room to spread out and hang Axum is going to be that place in downtown Winter Garden. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, Axum is most definitely use to seeing their patrons set up with laptops and enjoy their brews. The best seat in the house are the bar counters facing Plant Street.
Parking: FREE Street or Garage Parking
PICCOLO COFFEE - DOWNTOWN WINTER GARDEN
Piccolo shares it’s space with the Downtown Deli, so at lunch time it can get a little crowded in this small space, but before and after the lunch rush you can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere with my favorite coffee in Winter Garden.
Parking: FREE Parking lot parking down the street.
Frosty Fox - Baldwin Park
This bubble tea shop has a very chill atmosphere, and is usually on the quieter side during the day. They also have an Oviedo location if that’s closer to you.
Parking: FREE Street Parking
HOME STATE BREWING - HORIZONS WEST
Beer or Coffee while you work? You choose! Over at Home State Brewing there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and you can get a local coffee from Filigree Coffee Co. or a local beer on tap.
Parking: FREE Parking Lot
Palate Coffee Roasters - Sanford
Palate is a mission-based shop that donates proceeds to a non-profit that is dedicated to ending human trafficking. They have wonderful drinks, and fun seasonal menus, so if you are looking for a spot North of Orlando, you can feel good about supporting this shop.
Parking: FREE Street Parking
Winter Park Library - Winter Park
While you don’t have food and drink options here, you can’t beat the beauty of this library, and the absolute quiet and calm inside. There are sitting nooks all over on the first and second floor and you don’t have to have a library card to go inside, although I would recommend getting one if you don’t have one.
Parking: FREE Parking Lot
Picasso Moments Bakery - John Young + Sandlake Area
This cafe not far from the Florida Mall area is quaint and chill and offers not just bubble tea but some seriously good baked goods and other breakfast, lunch, and dinner options to cover you while you work any time of day.
